As Nigeria’s make-up beauty industry continues to expand, entrepreneurs have been tasked on the need to explore opportunities in the sector by leveraging networks of local suppliers.
Indeed, at a two-day exhibition fair for women entrepreneurs powered by Diamond Bank Plc, stakeholders noted that the fair seeks to empower women, while reaching out to a large section of the economy.
The fair, which was organized by the CEO of Eventful Limited Yewande Zaccheaus, and tagged ‘The Beauty Souk (TBS)’, was designed to empower SMEs with the ideology that beauty business is a huge business in Nigeria that creates immense opportunities for people who want to invest in it.
Zaccheaus during the two-day fair in Lagos said the ideology behind TBS is basically to provide a platform for vendors who may not have money to advertise, see the target market and relate directly with their consumers.
“Diamond Bank believes in women entrepreneurs, and they are basically putting their money where their mouth is; they do assist a lot of female entrepreneurs as they are interested in women businesses.
“This is a good way to support women businesses because most of the people running beauty businesses are women and a lot of the consumers are women.”
